We get a lot of questions every year from guests who are new to cruising about gratuities. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions and the answers to help you prepare your budget for your upcoming cruise.

Are gratuities included?

All mandatory taxes, port fees and gratuities imposed by the cruise line are included in your event cruise package. These included gratuities are split amongst dining room staff, stateroom attendants and other behind the scenes crew that work hard to make your vacation enjoyable for you. You are able to cruise without having to worry about additional gratuities being added to your account because they've already been added into your total package.

Do my prepaid gratuities take care of the bartenders?

They do not.

However, gratuities for the bar staff are added into any drink package that are purchased. It is also common for guests to leave additional gratuities for bartenders that mix a good cocktail, remember their preferred drink or are a friendly face with great conversation. These can be left at the bar when signing for your drink.

Are additional gratuities expected or required?

Additional gratuities are not expected or required. However, it is common for guests to leave additional gratuities for crew members whose service they appreciate.
